Perkins Leadership Project
The Industry-Contextualized Gateway Math in CTE project—a 2025–2026 Perkins CTE Leadership initiative across six North Carolina community colleges—paired North Carolina community college mathematics and CTE faculty with local employer partners to develop math lessons grounded in authentic workplace task and aligned with Gateway MAT 110, 143, 152, and 171. A total of 683 students participated in the project’s contextualized math lessons.

You can access the lessons created by this Perkins Leadership Project in the openNCCC content repository.
- Go to the openNCCC site, https://opennccc.nccommunitycolleges.edu/
- You will need to register using your college email address to access the full site content.
- Sign in.
- Select the Groups tab.
- Locate the Group called Gateway Math (CTE) Contextualization Material. Click to enter the group.
- Access the instructional content from the Group Resources tab.
