On March 11, 2005, the NC-NET Regional Center at Martin Community College hosted a day-long workshop titled “Moving Faculty from Traditional Classroom to Online Teaching” for faculty members from across North Carolina. The workshop included a face-to-face audience as well as participants from eight additional college sites via the NC Information Highway. Dr. Rita-Marie Conrad of Florida State University was the keynote presenter. Coauthor of Faculty Guide to Moving Teaching and Learning to the Web, Dr. Conrad assists instructors nationwide with decisions regarding the move of a course to the online environment. She is also the coauthor of Engaging the Online Learner: Activities for Creative Instruction which provides activities to develop an interactive online learning community.
